Vision

Hi there and welcome! I’m Satomi, your baking instructor in JaPan! Tokyo Bread Baking Class!

Japanese bread is more than just food—it’s a warm and fluffy taste of Japan. My goal is to share the techniques and secrets of making it, spreading happiness from Japan to the world. No matter where you are, you can always enjoy a little taste of Japan.”

Class

We offer both one-day class and course lessons (Course lessons will be ready in February). One-day class allows you to understand the overall process of Japanese bread-making and find the causes of past failures, while course lessons are great for learning more and improving your skills. Both options let you enjoy the fun of baking. Either way, we’ll make your time with us a wonderful experience!

I am a novice self-taught baker, and this was my very first in-person baking class. I decided very last minute to sign up, and it was SO worth it. Satomi is very friendly and knowledgable, and I learned a bunch about Japanese culture and bread baking in general from her. When I returned to the US, I baked both shokupan and curry pan for a couple physicians who I work with. They both are Japanese natives and absolutely loved them! I think that says a lot about how great of an instructor Satomi is. Thank you so much, Satomi!

Satomi is so nice and knowledgeable! My husband and I wanted to learn the techniques of bread making so we had lots of questions. Since bread making depends highly on the room temperature, humidity and the different types of flour and yeast, we got lots of good knowledge from Satomi. She’s patient and passionate about baking. I highly recommend this course!

My husband, daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed Satomi’s class. She was well-prepared, knowledgeable and very gracious. All of her bread items came out great and we learned a lot. If she offers other classes and we are in Japan, we will definitely take another class. Thank you!

Satomi-san is an excellent baker & caring instructor! I learned the detailed process of Shokupan, cookiepan, and melonpan, and enjoyed a lovely afternoon of baking & conversation in a charming residential area of Tokyo.

We previously tried to make shokupan and we’re never able to get the fluffiness right! Satomi gave invaluable advice and we’ll definitely be able to emulate her recipe when we’re back from Japan!
